What we believe

We believe in one God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

God is our Creator, a loving Father who seeks that everyone should know him and his love.

While we have gone our own way and lost our relationship with God, he made a plan of salvation.

The Old Testament, the first part of the Bible, prepared the way for God's direct intervention in history.

We believe that this came when God the Son gave up his heavenly glory and came to earth as a baby called Jesus, born to Mary. He lived in Galilee 2000 years ago and demonstrated what God's Kingdom is like by his teaching and what he did. He took the cost of our sins on himself by dying on the cross and showed that he was victorious over death by rising from the dead, a fact that was witnessed by many people before he ascended to heaven.

God sent his Holy Spirit to enable people like you and us to find new life in Jesus and to begin a journey of transformation of ourselves and of the world.

We believe that God has invited us to be part of his plan of salvation. By following him, we are offered life in abundance and the promise of eternal life. As such, we are interested not only in people’s spiritual welfare but also their physical, emotional, mental and social welfare.

We invite you to join us in following Jesus. If you want more information, do come along and speak to someone at Seedfield Methodist Church or contact us via our Find/Contact us page.

You are more than welcome.
