About Our Minister
Mark Roper grew up in the Isle of Thanet, Kent. He was employed by Barclays Bank before responding to the call of God to serve as a Christian worker aboard the missionary ship, the M.V. Logos, as it ploughed the seas between the major ports of North, South and central America.
Following some years as a lay pastor in Cambourne, Cornwall, he attended Wesley College, Bristol, being ordained as a Methodist minister in 1993. He has led churches in both Basingstoke and Swindon before joining us in 2005.
God has been pleased to use him in the area of teaching, healing and deliverance; blessing him with a strategic style of leadership that seeks to release every member of the church into their fullest potential for the work of Christ’s kingdom. He says of himself,
“Essentially, I’m a missioner, not a minister. My passion is to pursue God for the renewal of the Church and the redemption of local communities.”
This passion has been fuelled by his recent successful completion of an M.A. in Evangelism Studies.
Mark is happily married and has two wonderful daughters. In his spare time he enjoys watching films, writing poetry and gardening.
