Quiet Waters. In Ps 23 we read ‘He leads me beside still waters; He restores my soul.’ Our next ‘Quiet Waters’ event will be held on Sat 20th Feb. 2010. The day will run from 10.30 am - 3.30 pm (including a worship time 2.30 onwards) based around the theme: ‘An audience with Jesus Christ, the Bread of Life.’ Please come along for as much time as you can during the day & benefit from this opportunity for quiet reflective prayer and worship. Wanted Helpers for the Mix a club for 9 12 year olds. We need people to help on a monthly basis (or less often, the more people offer!) Mondays 5.30 - 7 pm in the Church hall. Please see Tia.

Calling all who support Christian Aid You are invited to a light tea 5.30 and presentation/discussion from 6.15 pm at Bolton Rd Methodist Church on Wed 10th Feb. The Christian Aid team from Warrington regional office will be sharing about Christian Aid Week this year, the invaluable emergency relief work that is achieved, and with a focus on Kenya. Please let Jean Hamilton or Tim Know if you ar coming to the tea or need a lift by Sun 7th Feb at the latest.

Quiet Waters

I don’t know about you but I find it very difficult to spend enough time with God: I know he’s around 24/7, but to really spend time with Him. Daily Bible reading notes provide one opportunity; in my case preparation to lead the House group provides another - but Quiet Waters provides something different again. I’ve only been able to spare an hour or so - how like us to fit God in! - but having resolved to “make the effort,” on two occasions, how personally beneficial they have been. I have found it so much easier somehow to meet with God on these occasions, than to try to spend the same time at home where there are distractions - and it just doesn’t happen. The ‘stations’ prepared with material to assist in meeting with God more intimately have proved very helpful and even though I have not managed in the time I have given to visit each station, I have received a deep sense of God’s presence, have been able to meet with him, to talk to him to listen to Him and to come away with a heart and mind much more at peace. I don’t do enough of this at home - here in Quiet Waters I have found a prop that has helped me to spend much valuable time with God. If you’re looking foe a prop - I recommend Quiet Waters.  Ken Jones
